The West Texas Museum Association (WTMA) dates back almost to the founding of the original West Texas Museum in 1929. The original group was called the Plains Museum Association up until 1946. WTNLA has served as the major support organization for the general museum (now the Museum of Texas Tech University) since that time. Their activities include the Women's Council of WTMA, who sponsors the annual Summer Youth Classes. WTMA sponsors many of the exhibits and programs at the Museum. Therefore, some of the promotional materials may also be found in the Exhibit and Activities sub-folders under Texas Tech: West Texas Museum (before 1970) and Texas Tech: Museum (since 1970).
