President's Excellence in Faculty Peer Mentorship Award

This award was created to recognize faculty for exemplary and sustained activity in faculty mentorship at Texas Tech University as evidenced through both official and unofficial mentorship roles along with demonstrated success of mentees. Candidates show an ongoing commitment to continued education in mentorship. Tenured or continuing appointment faculty members with three years of documented mentorship service recognized by peers may be considered and the award carries a monetary prize of $1,500. Applicants can be nominated by faculty, chair, or dean. Applications must receive approval from the nominee's chair, director, area coordinator or dean.
Application Materials
Along with the online form, the following materials will be required for a completed application.
- Cover letter from nominator or nominating committee containing detailed highlights of the nature of the candidate's exceptional contribution to faculty peer mentoring (not to exceed 2 pages)
- Nominee's abbreviated curriculum vitae (not to exceed 5 pages)
- Supporting letters from colleagues, including at least one mentee, focusing on the criteria for this award (not to exceed 3 letters)
- Nominee's faculty peer mentorship philosophy statement (not to exceed 1 page)
- Approval from the nominee's chair, director, area coordinator or dean (done through Info Ready)
