Our Mission
The Texas Tech University Center for Transformative Undergraduate Experiences (TrUE) works to ensure that every undergraduate student has the opportunity to engage in high-impact educational practices while earning their degree.
What Is a Transformative Experience?
A transformative experience helps you connect what you learn with what you do. Through meaningful projects, collaboration, feedback, and reflection, you can develop skills, explore your interests, and understand the impact of your work.
Undergraduate research and creative activities are an important part of TrUE’s work, alongside its broader support for high-impact learning across Texas Tech.
How TrUE Helps
TrUE provides programming that helps students explore research and creative activities, connect with faculty mentors, and present their work. TrUE also connects students with resources and opportunities offered by other Texas Tech departments and supports faculty and partners who develop meaningful undergraduate experiences.

High-Impact Practices
High-impact practices are educational approaches that encourage meaningful learning through sustained effort, collaboration, feedback, and reflection. TrUE supports the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) High-Impact Practices framework across the university.
Situated under the Office of the Provost, TrUE supports the development, enhancement, and expansion of high-impact educational practices for Texas Tech undergraduates.
