Emerging Research Scholars

The Emerging Research Scholars (ERS) track is designed to connect students who are new to Texas Tech with our incredible undergraduate research community. It is the entry point into the TrUE Scholars program. While ERS students do not receive funding, they receive support and mentorship designed to launch them into future opportunities to build undergraduate research into their degrees or on-campus employment. ERS students engage in workshops, networking opportunities, and scholar-exclusive sessions.

ERS students are typically first-year college students who are selected to begin their undergraduate research journey before they arrive at Texas Tech. Applications open in early Spring, and ERS students are notified of selection decisions before they start their first semester at Texas Tech.
