Research projects may still be in progress at the time of abstract submission. It is not necessary to have final results or conclusions at the time of presentation. We recommend that you discuss your project with your faculty mentor to confirm your project will be ready for presenting in either a poster or oral format by March 29th.

Due to space limitations, each undergraduate researcher is encouraged to only submit one abstract for consideration to the TTU URC. Multiple abstract submissions will only be considered in special circumstances and with pre-approval from the Center for Transformative Undergraduate Experiences.

Yes! "Groups" of up to two students can present at the TTU URC. Please note that only one Abstract Submission form should be submitted on behalf of the group project. There are separate Abstract Submission and Conference Registration processes. Group members will have the chance to register as a conference participant individually during the official registration period in the Spring.

All undergraduate students currently enrolled at an institution of higher education are eligible to present at the conference. 

An oral presentation is ten minutes in length, consisting of eight minutes of speech time, followed by two minutes of question and answer. Researchers will be speaking or reading (for those presenting a paper) in front of a seated audience.

A poster presentation is a visual display of your work where you will interact with conference participants in a large group setting. Conference posters should be 4' X 4' or smaller.

A performing arts presentation is twenty minutes in length, consisting of fifteen minutes of performance, followed by five minutes of question and answer. Students will be performing on a stage in front of a seated audience.

During a visual arts display an artist's work is displayed throughout as entire day of the TTU Undergraduate Research Conference. Visual art is displayed in a room that is constantly monitored to ensure the safety of the pieces. Artists can be present in the room to answer questions throughout the day if they wish. Artists are also encouraged to present in the oral presentation format if they would like to give a more formal presentation regarding their work. Presentation in the oral format does not effect your eligibility to display your art.

Students, faculty, and staff who are registered are invited to participate in as many conference activities as desired. Those traveling from outside of Lubbock should plan on attending a minimum of one full day of conference events and activities.

Poster presenters will be expected to stand with their posters throughout their entire session. Oral presenters will receive details regarding required participation. Business casual to business professional dress is recommended for presentations and throughout the conference. 

Family and friends are welcome to attend; however, guests that would like to participate in any RSVP events will be expected to register as a conference non-presenter. 

Faculty, staff, and graduate students from the TTU system may serve as a reviewer. Those interested in serving as a reviewer should complete the reviewer registration form.
