Texas Tech Chess connects students, schools and community members through tournaments, scholastic programs, instruction and other chess activities throughout the year.

Community Programs

Community outreach has been a priority of Texas Tech Chess since the program was established in 2007. TTU Chess works with schools and community organizations to create opportunities for people to learn, play and experience chess.

K-12 & Scholastic Chess

Texas Tech Chess has worked with local schools and K-12 students since 2007. Student volunteers and program staff support scholastic chess through tournaments, instruction and other opportunities for young players.

Schools interested in chess programming, tournament support or instructional activities are encouraged to contact the program.

Chess Camps

Texas Tech Chess may offer youth chess camps during the summer or at other times of the year. Camps are designed to help young players improve their chess skills through instruction, practice and play in a social learning environment.

Camp dates, age requirements, registration information and fees will be posted here when a camp is scheduled.
