M.S. in Electrical Engineering Curriculum & Courses
Curriculum
General Requirements
The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program has both thesis and non−thesis plans. Both plans require taking the following courses:
Thesis Plan
In the thesis option, students are required to:
- Complete 30 credit hours total.
- 24 hours of this must be coursework.
- At most, 6 hours may be non−ECE courses.
- At most, 3 hours may be EE Individual−Study courses.
- 6 hours must be ECE 6000, Master’s Thesis.
- 24 hours of this must be coursework.
- Complete a thesis and deliver an oral presentation of the results.
- Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination or comprehensive oral examination.
Non−Thesis Plan
- Complete 36 hours of coursework.
- At most, 9 hours may be non−ECE courses.
- At most, 6 hours may be ECE Individual−Study courses.
- Complete two semesters of ECE 5120, Graduate Seminar.
- Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination or comprehensive oral examination.
