Joie attended Iowa State University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. She then attended graduate school at the University of West Georgia where she served as the Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life. She graduated with her Master of Education in Professional Counseling with a concentration in College Student Affairs.

Karen Thompson, M.A.

Assistant Director, MGC/NPHC

Karen Thompson received her undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2013. Upon graduation, she decided to pursue a career in student affairs and returned to Eastern Michigan University to earn her M.A. in Higher Education/Student Affairs. Since that time, she has worked in fraternity & sorority life specifically advising culturally-based fraternal organizations.

Assistant Director, IFC

Frae graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2017, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Post-graduation, she started her graduate degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of South Dakota. While at South Dakota, she served as a graduate assistant in the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life, specializing in IFC and risk management education.

Alexis is from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University in Communication Studies. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration and will graduate Spring 2019. She enjoyed her Greek life experience and hopes to work with Fraternity & Sorority Life students in the future.

Alexis is from El Campo, Texas. She received her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in History. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Higher Education Administration and will graduate in May 2020. Alexis has been an organizational leader on campus for many years and hopes to continue to work with Fraternity & Sorority Life students into her professional career.

Angel Segura

Student Assistant

Angel is a junior from Carrollton, Texas. Angel is currently pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Sciences. After graduation, he hopes to pursue his Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy here at Texas Tech! In his free time, Angel enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and taking his dog to the park.
