New Faculty

Shiren (Edward) Wang joined the IE Department in the July 1, 2007 as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in 2006 in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering from Florida State University; an M.S. in Manufacturing System & Technology in 2002 from Singapore- Massachusetts Institute of Technology Alliance and an M.S. in Materials Science in 1998 from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Dr. Wang has worked on micro/nano-manufacturing, including precision cutting of aligned nanotubes, dispersion of carbon nanotubes, process design and control of nanocomposites fabrication, and simulation of composite manufacturing. He has also been involved in the design and manufacturing of nanotubes integrated devices (intelligent actuator, field emitter, etc).
