The joint meeting of The Southwest Chapter of the American Musicological Society and The Texas Music Library Association will be taking place virtually, this week, September 24-26

The joint meeting of The Southwest Chapter of the American Musicological Society and The Texas Music Library Association will be taking place virtually this week, September 24-26, and will feature several TTU researchers from the School of Music: graduate students Claire Miller and Rafael Powell, undergraduate student Courtney Nicols, and Dr. Jocoy and Dr. Virgina Whealton (both of whom also were on the program committee).

Originally, this joint meeting was arranged to take place at Texas Tech, and we were eager to share our campus and the city of Lubbock with scholars from across the region. Both the AMS-Southwest Chapter and the Texas Music Library Association deeply regret that the COVID-19 pandemic has kept us from meeting in person this fall. Leadership in both groups has expressed a desire to come to TTU in a future semester and see the Southwest Collections, the National Ranching Heritage Center, The Prairie Dog Town, and other delights of the TTU campus and Lubbock.
