Benefits, Requirements, Responsibilities, and Application Process:

Benefits:

  • Support your student's university by helping shape parent/family-specific communications and programming
  • Make connections with Texas Tech University staff and other Red Raider families
  • Recognition on the Parent & Family Relations website

Requirements for Eligibility:

  • Must be the parent or family member of an undergraduate student currently enrolled at Texas Tech University
  • Must be willing to meet the responsibilities outlined below
  • Must be available for scheduled Zoom meetings.  The Fall 2023 Think Tank meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th at Noon Central.

Responsibilities:

  • PFR Think Tank members will be asked to review and provide feedback on various electronic and printed communication pieces as well as programs offered by the department. Publications for review will be shared via email, Google Drive or other electronic means, and feedback will be submitted electronically through a survey form provided by PFR.
  • Members will be asked to commit to providing at least one (1) contribution to department communications, such as tips for new Red Raider families in our newsletter or joining a webinar to share a family perspective.
  • Attend monthly Zoom Meetings during the Fall and Spring semesters and once in the Summer (September, October, November, February, March, April, July).   Meetings will last approximately one hour and are normally at Noon Central.  Additional communications will occur via email. Attendance at 5 out of 7 meetings is expected.
  • Term of service will be a maximum of two years, as long as your student remains enrolled at Texas Tech. For example, if your student is nearing their senior year and you cannot serve for two years, we would still appreciate your membership in the Think Tank.

Application Process:

Applications are currently closed. We will recruit new members in Summer 2024.
