TTU Animal Behavior Clinic

Are you a pet owner in need of behavioral support for your cat or dog? The TTU Animal Behavior Clinic can help!
What is The TTU Animal Behavior clinic:

The Texas Tech University Animal Behavior Clinic (TTU-ABC) is here to help you and your pet live harmoniously together. Led by faculty and run by students enrolled in a fellowship program, the clinic offers affordable, science-based behavioral support for cat and dog owners, giving students hands-on experience while making a difference for pets and their people.

What we offer:

1) Virtual or phone behavioral consultations

Our virtual and phone consultations let us get to know you and your pet, discuss your goals, and work with you to create a personalized plan. We may chat about how you can manage your pet’s environment, enrichment ideas, appropriate socialization, and more! We will also check back with you via email to see if you need further support.

Note: Sometimes, a medical examination by your veterinarian is necessary before we can provide any behavioral support. Certain behaviors, like aggression or litter box issues, can be caused by underlying health concerns. We will discuss this with you, should we feel it is needed.

2)  Training classes
Does your dog need help with basic obedience, impulse control, or leash manners? They may qualify for one of our monthly training classes!

Our classes will empower you with science-based, positive reinforcement training techniques, so your pet will learn effectively while also building trust with you. Positive reinforcement motivates your pet to willingly engage in training and effectively learn new skills.

3)  Education and support
We believe education is key! We offer practical support so pet owners can better understand their pets and their needs. Our students are trained in animal behavior through completion of 100+ hours of animal behavior training and coursework, and our faculty have extensive expertise in dog and cat behavior.
