Frequently Asked Questions

How can I incorporate career services into my class?

Some ways to incorporate the Career Center into your class include:

  • Invite a Career Center staff member to present to your class. A list of frequently requested presentation topics and the presentation request form is available here
  • Provide extra credit for attendance to University Career Center events such as the Etiquette Dinner, Mocktail Party, All-Majors Job Fair, or Non-Profit Job Fair. We provide event verification letters at these events for students who request them.
  • Require students complete an experiential learning project through Forage, an experiential learning platform with real-world projects to help students explore different industries.
  • Assign your students to complete a resume or mock interview appointment for credit.

If you have an idea or want to create something custom for your students, please reach out to the Career Center at (806) 742-2210 or careercenter@ttu.edu. We would be happy to collaborate and provide a more customized experience to your students and discipline.

Where is the University Career Center located?

We are located on the southeast corner of the Wiggins Complex. Wiggins is located west of the Chitwood Weymouth dorms and east of the Law School in the same building as Sam's Place West, Hospitality, and Housing. When viewing the campus map, select Career Services, University to locate Wiggins.

Do students have to schedule an appointment to utilize UCC services?

While we do our best to accommodate drop-ins, students are highly encouraged to schedule an appointment with the Career Center to ensure adequate time to address their needs. To schedule an appointment, students will need to login to Raider Success Hub using their eRaider information and make an appointment. We offer face-to-face, video, and phone appointments.

Can a UCC professional make a presentation to my class or student organization about career development?

Yes, the UCC staff is available for presentations. To learn more, view our Presentation Request page.

My students are required to provide proof of participating in a mock interview or document review. Is a review of the student's performance provided?

Any of our staff can provide a written critique through our standardized rubric. Please note that not all students who use our services will receive a rubric, so  students will need to let their staff member know that they need will need the rubric for their assignment.
