Incorporating Career Services Into Your Classroom

The University Career Center welcomes opportunities to partner with faculty and instructors to incorporate career readiness and career development topics into their course.

If you have an idea or want to create something custom for your students, please reach out to the Career Center at (806) 742-2210 or careercenter@ttu.edu. We would be happy to collaborate and provide a more customized experience to your students and discipline.

What are some examples of ways I could incorporate career services into my course?

Here are a few ways we have collaobrated with faculty in the past:

  • Developed and delivered tailored workshops and presentations to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Provided verification for event attendance to events for course credit or extra credit. We can provide event verification letters or manage a sign-in sheet for your class specifically.
  • Facilitated experiential learning projects through Forage, an experiential learning platform with real-world projects to help students explore different industries.
  • Conducted resume reviews and/or mock interviews for course credit. We will provide a rubric evaluating the student's engagement to submit as verification.
  • Incorporated an assessment, such as Focus2, TypeFocus, CliftonStrengths, Strong244 or MBTI, into your class. We can have staff who can come present to your class and provide group interpretations and applications to self-awareness as well as career exploration and development.
Where is the University Career Center located?

We are located on the southeast corner of the Wiggins Complex. Wiggins is located west of the Chitwood Weymouth dorms and east of the Law School in the same building as Sam's Place West, Hospitality, and Housing. When viewing the campus map, select Career Services, University to locate Wiggins.

Do students have to schedule an appointment to utilize UCC services?

While we do our best to accommodate drop-ins, students are highly encouraged to schedule an appointment with the Career Center to ensure adequate time to address their needs. To schedule an appointment, students will need to log in to Raider Success Hub using their eRaider information and make an appointment. We offer face-to-face, video, and phone appointments.

Can a UCC professional make a presentation to my class or student organization about career development?

Yes, the UCC staff is available for presentations. To view a list of commonly requested topics and submit a request, view our Presentation Request page.

My students are required to provide proof of participating in a mock interview or document review. Is a review of the student's performance provided?

Any of our staff can provide a written critique through our standardized rubric. Please note that not all students who use our services will receive a rubric, so students will need to let their staff member know that they need will need the rubric for their assignment.

Current students, log in to Raider Success Hub to schedule an appointment online.
