CECREH faculty and research fellows participated in the 51st Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop and the Researchers Meeting, held June 14–18, 2026, in Broomfield, Colorado. The gathering brought together researchers, practitioners, public officials, nonprofit organizations, and others working to reduce disaster impacts and strengthen community resilience.
Abigail Ulman, Amin Sobhani, Jesse Andrews, Danielle Craig, Kaifa Lu, Paul Iyoha, Temidayo Popoola, and Miranda Sauceda presented posters highlighting ongoing CECREH research. The projects addressed topics including long-term housing recovery capacity, post-Harvey reconstruction, housing recovery benchmarks, local resilience, CDBG-DR implementation, 3D-printed housing systems, and insured flood losses.
The workshop gave CECREH researchers an opportunity to share emerging findings, receive feedback, and connect their work to national conversations on disaster recovery and resilience.
CECREH faculty members Sara Hamideh and Ashley Ross also participated in the event. Beyond the poster sessions, CECREH faculty and researchers contributed to presentations, panels, and other workshop activities, creating additional opportunities for discussion and collaboration across the hazards and disaster research community.
The Centers participation reflected the breadth of its current research and its commitment to translating research into practical knowledge for more equitable and effective housing recovery. The posters presented at the workshop are available in the CECREH Documentation Hub.
