In July 2025, Dr. Ali Nejat, Director of the Center of Excellence in Capacity-building for Resilient Housing (CECREH), participated as a panelist at the 7th Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes (GADRI) Summit, hosted in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The panel focused on advancing disaster resilience through multidisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Nejat presented several key projects led by CECREH, highlighting the Centers integration of engineering, social science, and community engagement to address complex housing challenges in disaster-prone regions.
CECREHs participation in the GADRI Summit reflects the Centers commitment to global knowledge exchange and transdisciplinary work on resilience.
Dr. Nejats remarks also emphasized the importance of international cooperation. The session led to a promising exchange with Dr. Holla from the University of Žilina, a partner in the RETIME Project, a European initiative focused on adaptive solutions for hazard resilience.
Participation in the GADRI Summit reflects CECREHs commitment to contributing to global conversations on resilience and fostering transdisciplinary, cross-border knowledge exchange.
