Dr. Ali Nejat, Director of the Center of Excellence in Capacity-building for REsilient Housing (CECREH), participated in the International Conference on Resilient Systems 2026, held March 23–25, 2026, at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The conference theme, Resilience in an Age of Disruption, brought together researchers and practitioners working across resilient infrastructure, governance, disaster management, and complex systems.
Dr. Nejat presented “Local Government Resilience: Lessons from Post-disaster Recovery in Three U.S. States” as part of the conference track on the resilience of local authorities. His presentation highlighted CECREHs ongoing work on post-disaster housing recovery and the role of local government capacity in supporting more equitable and effective recovery outcomes.
CECREHs participation in ICRS 2026 reflects the Centers commitment to connecting housing recovery research with broader international conversations on resilience. By sharing findings with a global audience, CECREH continues to build partnerships and contribute evidence-based insights for communities facing climate-driven disasters.
