Dr. Meri Davlasheridze is an associate professor at the department of Marine and Coastal Environmental Science at Texas A&M University at Galveston. She is a hazard economist, and her research contributes to the transdisciplinary research field at the intersection of social and natural sciences that informs adaptation pathways to climate-induced extreme events, their efficiency and equity implications, as well as enhancing resilience and sustainability of communities. Dr. Davlasheridze has received research support from the National Science Foundation, NOAA, Texas Department of Insurance, Texas General Land Office, and other agencies. She has served as an oversight committee member for the National Academies of Science’s new Enhancing Community Resilience Program and currently contributes as a subject matter expert program evaluation work for FEMA’s preparedness grant programs. Additionally, she holds the position of associate editor for the Journal of Coastal and Riverine Flood Risk.
