Miranda Sauceda received her B.S. in Criminal Justice at Texas A&M University at Corpus
Christi. In addition to this, she earned an M.S. in Emergency Management and Disaster Science from the University of North Texas, where
she completed her thesis on household evacuation and displacement patterns during
Hurricane Harvey. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Marine and Coastal Management
and Science at Texas A&M University at Galveston. She has contributed to studies aligned
with risk communication, nature-based hazard mitigation solutions, and long-term household
displacement due to disasters. Miranda recently co-authored a publication with Dr. Ashley Ross and
colleagues titled, “Seven Challenges for Risk Communication in Todays Digital Era:
The Emergency Managers Perspective.”
