Paul Uwagbi Iyoha is a versatile civil engineer pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering at Texas Tech University. He attained his Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from The University of Benin, Nigeria, where he graduated with First-class Honours, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University; he has consistently demonstrated excellence in his academic pursuits.
His extensive experience spans various roles, including Graduate Teaching Assistant at Texas Tech University. Paul's leadership abilities are evident in his roles as Editorial Manager for the Journal of Emerging Investigators and a Graduate Senator at Texas Tech University's Student Government Association, where he represents the interests of graduate students and the College of Engineering. He has also served as a mentor and volunteer in various capacities, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to his community.
With a keen interest in sustainable development and project management, Paul possesses a diverse skill set, including expertise in Building Information Modelling and structural design tools. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Black Engineers, reflecting his dedication to his field.
His achievements, including receiving the Distinguished Graduate Student Assistantship at Texas Tech University, and various academic awards, attest to his exceptional talent and dedication to excellence in civil engineering.
Currently, he is a Graduate Researcher at the Centre of Excellence in Climate Resilient Equitable Housing, where his research focus is on disaster mitigation in housing using 3D concrete printing technology.
