Pavel Andrade’s research and teaching focus on Mexican literary and cultural studies with an emphasis on theory of the novel, formalism, and geocriticism. His current research examines the emergence of a countertopographical perspective in the Mexican novel of the long sixties and its formal relation to the tumultuous reconfiguration of peripheral capitalism in the postwar era. He is the founding organizer of the Mexican Studies Research Collective, a member of the Modern Language Association’s LLC Mexican Forum Executive Committee, and the book reviews editor of the journal Mexican Studies/Estudios Mexicanos.
