About

About the Engineering Opportunities Center

At the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering, we believe opportunity should never be limited by circumstance. That’s why the Engineering Opportunities Center (EOC) exists—to ensure every engineering student has access to the support, resources, and guidance they need to succeed.

The EOC is a welcoming hub where students from all backgrounds can connect with mentors, build community, and tap into academic, professional, and personal development resources. Whether you're the first in your family to attend college, navigating the challenges of a rigorous curriculum, or looking to find your place in the engineering community, we’re here to help.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a holistic support experience that empowers undergraduate engineering students to thrive academically, professionally, and personally. Through integrated support in academics, career services, community, tutoring, nutrition, financial, mental health, and well-being, we are committed to fostering an environment that supports success in students' engineering education and beyond.

  • Peer and professional mentoring
  • Tutoring and academic coaching
  • Workshops on career readiness, study skills, and wellness
  • Connections to scholarships and internships
  • Networking events and community-building initiatives

Who We Serve

The EOC serves all engineering students but places a strong emphasis on supporting:

  • First-generation college students
  • Underrepresented and underserved populations
  • Students seeking additional academic or social support

No matter your path, we’re here to walk it with you—every step of the way.
