Former Red Raider standout Matt Mooney embodies that trajectory. Known for his leadership during Texas Tech’s 2018–19 Big 12 Championship season and historic Final Four run, Mooney now channels that same competitive drive into entrepreneurship as the founder and Chief Vision Officer of AthletIQ.

AthletIQ leverages artificial intelligence and robotics to create game-like training environments that analyze shooting mechanics in real time, delivering adaptive feedback and performance data to athletes at every level. A recipient of the President’s Innovative Startup Award through the Texas Tech Innovation Hub, Mooney’s venture reflects how resilience, research, and innovation converge.
