About the Society

The Forensic Science Society is a registered student organization of Texas Tech and serves as the liaison between undergraduate, graduate, and faculty/staff for the Institute of Forensic Science.

The purpose of the organization is to:

  • Build and develop professional and personal connections with colleagues to greater the forensic science community.
  • Provide social events to promote networking with forensic practitioners in the region.
  • Provide a student organization for students pursuing a graduate degree of an undergraduate minor in forensic science at Texas Tech University, and students with a special interest in forensic science/investigation.
  • Promote the graduate degree program and undergraduate minor.
  • Promote the knowledge and understanding of forensic science and educate the audience in the use and advancement of forensic science throughout the community. The membership will act as a teaching tool for individuals outside the organization no matter age or interested fields.
  • Perform services within the community which includes better educating individuals of the various fields of forensic science and STEM related fields.

bi-weekly meetings

Our organization has bi-weekly meetings in which we have guest speakers from a variety of forensic disciplines and perform various forensic activities. Additionally, we partake in numerous social events and help serve and educate both the Lubbock and Texas Tech community.
