Bio
Hi Ho! My name is Amy Reynolds. I graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in Exercise Science. I worked at a chiropractors office doing physical therapy for six years, prior to moving to Monterrey, Mexico to work in global orpan care. Upon returning to the states to marry my husband, I knew I wanted to career shift to my lifelong passion of working with children and families. Thus began my journey to becoming a Certified Child Life Specialist. I landed my dream child life job in Denver, Colorado where I got to support children in abuse and neglect situations, and equip their families with new and necessary tools to care for their children. My husbands job then brought us to Lubbock, Texas where I gratefully found another child life position at UMC hospital. While I loved child life, I found myself longing for more time with my children while still having a career. This brought me to the Child Development Research Center. There is nothing that brings me as much joy and fulfillment as working with children. Helping them navigate their environment, manage their emotions, and learn new skills to feel confident and competent, is a passion and life purpose of mine. I find children absolutely delightful and magical. I cannot believe I get the privilege to learn from and love on these precious beings! Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy mentoring college students who are passionate about children and lucky for me, I get to partner with lab students and student assistants in my day-to-day work as a toddler teacher here. All paths in my life have involved working with children and equipping families with new tools so they can enjoy their children to the fullest!Child Development Research Center
