Cheri Whalen brings an extensive background and deep passion for computer science education to her role as lead teacher at the Texas Tech DFW iOS Design Lab. With both a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science, Cheri has devoted more than 20 years to teaching and mentoring students, consistently seeking innovative ways to enhance the learning experience.

Her rich background includes teaching AP Computer Science Principles in SWIFT, Apple Mobile App Development, and MobileMakers Studio at Cedar Park High School in Austin, Texas. Cheri's dynamic teaching style and enthusiasm for technology, combined with her personal commitment to continuous learning and innovation, uniquely position her to lead the iOS Design Lab.

At the iOS Design Lab, Cheri guides students and working professionals in mastering essential 21st-century skills. Her approach focuses on practical application, enabling participants to seamlessly integrate technology into their personal and professional lives. Cheri's commitment to education is reflected in her continuous pursuit of fresh, research-based teaching techniques. Her workshops and classes engage students in identifying problems, brainstorming solutions, prototyping and testing app ideas using a design sprint methodology.
