Yun Suk Eo , Ph.D. Assistant Professor - Condensed Matter Physics
Yun Suk Eo is a condensed matter experimentalist who studies quantum materials. He is interested in quantum material systems that exhibit exotic behavior originating from non-trivial topology and strong correlations in the material. These materials include topological insulators, topological semimetals, topological superconductors, strongly correlated f-electron systems, etc. Although not limited to certain experimental techniques, Eo's group mainly uses electrical/thermal transport to understand the low excitation behavior of such quantum materials. In addition, Eo's group also synthesizes quantum materials by using flux growth and chemical vapor transport techniques.
Before joining Texas Tech, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Maryland (College Park) Quantum Materials Center (QMC). He was also a member of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence in Future Low-Energy Electronics (FLEET) during that time.
