Moriah Harman is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University. She received her PhD in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2023. Dr. Harman studies American politics, with a particular interest in political behavior and psychology. She considers the effects of both individual- and structural-level factors to better understand individual and group attitudes, behaviors, and policy preferences.

 

Dr. Harman's research has been published in Political Behavior, PS: Political Science & Politics, Journal of Community Psychology, and Journal of Information Warfare. Her co-authored book (with Dr. Jas Sullivan), African American Coping in the Political Sphere, will be published by SUNY Press in October 2023.

 

Dr. Harman will teach upper-level undergraduate courses in American Politics (Political Psychology; The Politics of Income Inequality) as well as introduction to American government during her first year at Texas Tech (2023-2024).
