Curriculum Vita
Mark McKenzie is Associate Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University.
Dr. McKenzie received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and
joined the Texas Tech faculty that same year. He received his J.D. from the University
of Texas School of Law in 1998, whereupon he practiced general litigation for 3 years.
His current research focuses on judicial decision making, judicial elections, redistricting,
and public perceptions of the courts. He is working on a book manuscript on judicial
decision making and partisanship in redistricting cases in state and federal court.
He also has several other projects related to the campaign behavior of judicial candidates
and public perceptions of the courts. His research has appeared in Political Behavior, Political Research Quarterly, American Politics Research, Justice System Journal, Judicature, American Review of
Politics, and Politics & Policy as well as several book chapters in edited volumes. He teaches undergraduate courses
in the judicial process, election law, constitutional law, and American government.
He teaches graduate courses on American politics, judicial behavior, and administrative
law.
