Toby J. Rider (Ph.D., University of Illinois, 2009; M.A., University of Kentucky, 2006; B.A., Louisiana State University, 2001) is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University.
He has published his research in the Journal of Politics, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Peace Research, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and International Interactions.
His work focuses on the causes and consequences of arms competitions, rivalry processes, territorial conflict and the settlement of international borders, military alliances and the causes of war. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on international relations, foreign policy, the causes of war, and conflict management and resolution.
Dr. Rider is also the Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Political Science.
