Curriculum Vit
Joel Sievert is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University.
Dr. Sievert received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2015. Prior to joining
the faculty at TTU, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Political Institutions and
Public Choice Program at Duke University. His research and teaching interests encompass
American political institutions with an emphasis on congressional politics, the presidency,
American political development, and separation of powers. Dr. Sieverts research has
been published in journals such as the Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, Legislative Studies Quarterly,
and Presidential Studies Quarterly. He recently co-authored a book, Electoral Incentives in Congress, that is forthcoming with the University of Michigan Press.
Dr. Sievert is also the Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Political Science.
