Faculty Searches
At TTU, full-time faculty positions are typically filled through a national search process. Search committees play a critical function in the universitys ability to recruit and hire outstanding faculty. The information on this page is for individuals serving on a faculty search committee in academic year 2026-2027.
Required Trainings
Training requirements vary according to an individuals role in the faculty search and hiring process. Review the requirements below before participating in a 2026-2027 faculty search.
For Search Committee Members, Including Chairs
Search committee members must have completed the Faculty Search Committee Workshop within the past five years. However, due to major revisions to faculty search procedures in 2022-2023, anyone serving on a Faculty Search Committee this year must have attended a Faculty Search Committee Workshop in Fall 2023 or later.
The dates for the Fall 2026 Faculty Search Committee Workshop are:
- 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, Aug. 28 | FSCW Registration Friday, August 28 | Registration closes Monday, August 24
- 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Sept. 9
- 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22
- 1 to 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22
- 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, Nov. 13
Each workshop will be in TLPDC 151.
The registration link for each Fall 2026 Faculty Search Committee Workshops will be posted two weeks in advance.

For Search Committee Chairs
Search Committee Chairs must have completed the Faculty Search Committee Chair Briefing in Fall 2024 or later.
The Chair Briefing schedule for 2026-2027 will be posted the week of Aug. 10.

For Business Managers/Hiring Managers
This optional training is specific to the individual who will be processing the requisition in Kenexa. It is highly recommended that staff members working with faculty hiring take this training.
The Business Manager/Hiring Manager training schedule for 2026-2027 will be posted the week of Aug. 10.
