David McClure, MBA, CLP

David McClure is the Managing Director, Licensing for the Office of Research Commercialization. David is responsible for marketing the System's intellectual property portfolio to industry and negotiating license agreements with business partners to commercialize technologies developed within the Texas Tech University System.

David also manages the relationships with all TTUS licensees, monitoring license agreement compliance to insure that sales from all licensed patents are properly reported and that royalties and milestone payments are submitted on a timely basis.

Before joining Texas Tech in 2008, McClure worked for 26 years in Marketing and Refining with the ExxonMobil Corporation and Petro Stopping Centers, one of its business partners, holding various positions in retail marketing, pricing and supply, and joint venture development. McClure attended the College of William and Mary in Virginia earning a degree in Economics and an MBA in Marketing. He received certification as a Certified Licensing Professional from the Licensing Executive Society in 2014.
