BSL-2 Facility
The BSL-2 facility offers two unique labs for Human Sampling and Histology.
The Human Sampling lab has capacity to conduct sleep studies, collect and process phlebotomy samples and urine samples and perform Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA).
Key Instrumentation
- Laser Microdissection System
- Stereomicroscopes with Fluorescence and Camera
- FACS Cell Sorter
- Microtomes and Cryostats
- Spectra Auto Stainer
- Pegasus Tissue Processor
The Histology lab is equipped to process tissue, freeze tissue samples, perform paraffin embedding, slice embedded tissue and stain slides. This lab also contains the necessary equipment to perform real-time PCR, flow cytometry, cell sorting, cell culturing and imaging, Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), laser micro-dissection and advanced imaging of slides.
Key Instrumentation
- Avanti J15 Centrifuge & Microfuge 20R
- Sleep Study Room
- Examination Room & Phlebotomy Recliners
