Shayne Sims serves as Assistant Managing Director for the Proposal Services Team in the Office of Research Services. In this position she assists faculty, staff and students in preparing and submitting proposals for sponsored projects. She provides administrative support in completing the research proposal and provides budget support and review for proposals submitted.

Shayne graduated from the University of Denver with a bachelor's in business administration. She has enjoyed a broad range of experience including both public service and private sector employment. Her career began with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHSC) where her positions included front-line, support and supervisory, and software tester. Following her time at HHSC, she worked as an auditor of financial and inventory controls with ALAMOSA PCS. Shayne joined Texas Tech University and the Office of Research Services in October 2006.
