Darielle Baustert

College: Whitacre College of Engineering

Texas Tech University has helped me succeed by allowing me to lead, mentor, compete, travel, and represent the university both inside and outside of the Lubbock community. I have had so many amazing experiences that I would not have had the opportunity to do without the diversity of resources that Texas Tech University has to offer.

My plans after graduation include working for CNS Pantex in Amarillo, Texas as a Nuclear Safety Engineering Associate and hopefully starting a young professionals employee resource group. I am excited to be close to Lubbock to stay connected to the alumni network!

Olivia Billington

Texas Tech has truly been my anchor for personal growth and leadership development. From leading student organizations at the Rawls College of Business to receiving invaluable scholarships, Texas Tech has not only provided me with academic opportunities but also connected me with lifelong friends and mentors. Beyond the campus, being part of the Lubbock community has enhanced my experience in ways I never imagined, while the vibrant school spirit here has made every moment unforgettable. 

After Graduation, I plan to continue working as a social media marketing coordinator in Lubbock and eventually travel the world!

Karmen Brown 

College: College of Media and Communication

I am so grateful to have learned so many essential, personal development skills over my tenure as a Texas Tech student, including those which molded my leadership and confidence. Being a Red Raider inspires me to always strive to maximize my impact in the spaces I enter. 

After graduation, I will move to central Georgia, serving as a multimedia journalist for WMAZ13 in Macon, Georgia (home of Little Richard and Otis Redding). I can't wait to share the stories of many communities in ‘Mac-Town’.

James Grein 

College: Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources

Texas Tech exposed me to an industry, profession, and lifestyle that I have grown to love, as well as instilled in me a drive to work hard for what I want. After graduation from Texas Tech, I will continue my education at the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary as a second-year veterinary student in hopes of becoming a mixed-animal veterinarian.

Alena Jairamsingh 

College: Whitacre College of Engineering

Texas Tech helped me to succeed personally and professionally. Through undergraduate research and academic courses, I was able to learn the technical aspects of the industry. My tutoring job helped with interpersonal and communication skills which are required for interviews and other aspects of life.

After graduation, I plan to move to Albuquerque to start my new job.

Stone Pena 

College: College of Arts & Sciences

Texas Tech has given me a community of diverse prospectives that has challenged me to become more understanding. Texas Tech is not only dedicated to education but understanding: as people are brought together to better the world and to look through the eyes of others. 

I hope to attend a PhD program in psychology, philosophy, or neuroscience. The mind is one of my favorite subjects and I’d be grateful for any chance to continue exploring it. 

Sydney Stanley

College: College of Arts & Sciences

Texas Tech has helped me succeed in so many ways, but the biggest way has been how my experience here has helped me grow as a person. I would not be the person I am today if it were not for my time at Texas Tech.

After graduation, I plan on going home to Colorado for the summer and will be beginning medical school in late July at Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Emma Taber

College: Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources

Texas Tech has transformed my character and outlook on life to be more patient and intentional, which surpasses the already invaluable knowledge and wisdom I have gained throughout my college career. I feel equipped and excited to take on my next chapter of life knowing that Texas Tech has prepared me to excel in every circumstance; personal and professional. Grateful does not begin to describe my feelings about being a Red Raider.

I am looking for a remote position in online marketing or digital media as I prepare to live in a more rural area post-graduation. I look forward to continuing my freelance work in social media management, photography, and agricultural advocacy. 

Emma Travland 

College: College of Arts & Sciences

My name is Emma Travland, and I am a Biology major from Fredericksburg, Texas. After graduation I will be continuing my education by earning my Master of Public Health degree from UNC-Chapel Hill before going to medical school. Texas Tech helped me succeed because it provided me with the support system I needed; not only an entire college, but Lubbock in itself took me in and pushed me to Strive For Honor in the West Texas community. More specifically, being a student in the largest and most diverse college on campus, I was able to engage with peers of various backgrounds and make connections that I will forever cherish. 

Chyna Vargas 

College: College of Media and Communication

Texas Tech has helped me succeed by providing many resources and opportunities to improve my career skills. While participating in these opportunities, I've also made lifelong friends with the same passion for storytelling. 

My plans after graduation are to attend grad school for science writing and continue to tell the important stories of the world. I hope to get a job where I can be a voice for educating and informing the public about the science surrounding us.
