Steve Fraze, Ph.D.

Dr. Fraze has been at Texas Tech since 1988 and became the Agricultural Education and Communications Department Chair in 2008. He has taught AGED 5302 Research Methods in Agricultural Education and Communications, AGED 5306 History & Philosophy in Agricultural Education and Communications, ACOM 5307 Methods of Technological Change, AGED 6000 Master's Thesis and AGED 8000 Doctor's Dissertation. Dr. Fraze also coordinated the Student Teaching Block from 1989 to 2008.
Dr. Fraze has received many outstanding teaching awards during his time at Texas Tech. In addition, he has served in leadership roles for the profession and is the current associate superintendent of the Livestock Career Development Event for the National FFA Organization. Dr. Fraze is an officer for the Western Region of the American Association for Agricultural Education. Dr. Fraze has also co-authored several award-winning research papers and posters.
Dr. Fraze earned his B.S. in agriculture in 1975 from Lubbock Christian College. He received his agricultural teaching certification from Texas Tech in 1976. Dr. Fraze continued his education to receive his M.S. in education from Texas Tech and Ph.D. from Texas A&M.
