Applying for study Chinese culture Chinese language in China, you will experience the brilliant civilization and culture which have been in existence for over 5,000 years. This 6-week program aims to provide students a deeper knowledge about China and Chinese culture by visiting Shaoxing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuzhen, Zhuji in east China. Besides taking CHIN3306 Chinese Culture, a multicultural course, students will learn Chinese language which credits can be transferred to TTU. Rich excursions and hand-on cultural activities will be offered in this program, including, but not limited to, make traditional Chinese kite, do Chinese embroidery, learn Chinese Kungfu and Tai Chi, make Chinese dishes, make traditional Chinese paper cutting, make wire flowers, enjoy traditional Chinese music instruments show, paint Chinese opera facial makeup, learn Chinese calligraphy, enjoy Chinese tea art, study traditional Chinese painting, learn traditional Chinese medicine, etc.

Program Date: May 31st to July 11th, 2021 (6 weeks)

  • CHIN3306 Chinese Culture, TTU multicultural course
  • Chinese language course offered by Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages. CHIN1501, CHIN1502, CHIN2301, CHIN2302, CHIN3305, CHIN4300

Estimated Program Fee:

$2,500-$2,800 depending on the size of the program. The program fee covers Chinese language course, textbook, e-campus card, culture activities, three meals per day, accommodation (twin room) on campus, off-campus excursion (transportation, tours, meals, hotels, and admission fees), pick-up and send-off service. TTU students can use the laundry room in the dorm for free. Airfare to/from China, visa application, personal expenditures in China, and other fees required by TTU are excluded. The host university will arrange one Chinese university student as a language partner for every five TTU students.
