Financial Aid Information
The department understands that financial aid is a necessity for most students. We strongly encourage you to investigate the many sources of financial aid that are available at both the university and college level. Financial aid assistance through the University
Financial aid assistance through the Department or College
When available, the Department of Human Development and Family Studies offers research assistantships and teaching assistantships. These assistantships are usually offered on a 9-month stipend and the department will waive university fees and non-resident fees for the student so that only in-state tuition and fees apply.
The Department of Human Development and Family Studies also offers some scholarships ranging. The application form for departmental financial aid is available through the department. In addition, the College of Human Sciences has several scholarships available. College scholarship applications and information may be obtained through the Dean of the College of Human Sciences. These scholarships allow for in-state tuition and fees for the recipient if they total $1000 or more.
If they meet eligibility requirements, graduate students are required to apply for work-study support if they have applied for a teaching or research assistantship.To apply for financial aid through the department
- College Assistance: Application forms are available in January from the Office of the Dean of Human Sciences. Deadlines for these applications are usually in February.
- Departmental Assistance: Applying students should complete the yellow financial aid application form in the application packet.
