Honors Dean Announces New Leadership Team

Michael San Francisco, Dean of the Honors College enthusiastically announces the college leadership team. Dr. Aliza Wong, Associate Professor of History will serve as the Associate Dean for the college. Dr. Wong previously served as President of the TTU faculty senate and the associate chair of the History Department. She is an award-winning teacher, and a two-time Fulbright Fellow. Her scholarship is in modern Italian history with a concentration on southern discourse, race, nationalism, identity, and popular culture. Dr. Susan Tomlinson, Associate Professor in the Honors College will serve as Assistant Dean. Dr. Tomlinson is an award-winning teacher and her scholarship is in the integration of nature, the environment and the humanities. Dr. Tomlinson will oversee admissions and advising activity at the college. Dr. Mark McGinley is an Associate Professor with joint appointments in Biological Sciences and the Honors College. Dr. McGinley is an award-winning teacher and has held a Fulbright Fellowship. Dr. McGinley has scholarly interests in plant and animal ecology, environmental and science education, environmental issues, and marine conservation. He is responsible for external research activity in the college with an emphasis on foundation and federal agency proposals.

Dr. San Francisco is also happy to announce that Dr. Gary Elbow, Professor of Geography and Honors Studies and recently Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs will be returning to the college.
