Positive Youth Development Lab
PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH (PAR) AND OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS
K-to-College ARC Project
Lubbock coalition composed of K-to- College advocates for school readiness, High School completion
and transitioning into college for foster youth and youth-in-care. ARC includes liaisons
and advocates across different schools, colleges, and systems serving foster youth
(e.g., health, juvenile justice, child welfare).
Program Evaluation and Performance Measurement
Partnership with local community agencies and organizations (e.g., VOICES of the South
Plains, Court Appointed Special Advocates-CASA, etc) to provide pro-bono program evaluations
and performance measurement for the improvement of services, practices and supporting
the advancement of prevention/intervention efforts serving local youth and their families.
College-Going Dream
Partnership with Spur ISD Elementary School and High School to coordinate Fall/Spring
5th graders' and High Schoolers' visit to TTU/ TTUHSC campuses. This program represents
a great opportunity to foster children's dream to attend college and pursue a professional
career in their future, strengthen the relationships with other school districts besides
Lubbock ISD, and promote recruitment of students across West Texas.
