Retail Symposium 2017

Retail Management program hosts fifth annual  Retail Symposium

The Retail Management program hosted the fifth annual RetailSymposium on April 4 at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center. 

The event, sponsored by H-E-B and Target, provided students with the opportunity to network with industry professionals and hear career testimonials, as well as learn about various companies during keynote and panel speaker events. This year, students heard from companies such as H-E-B, Target, Dillard's, Costco, and Suit Supply. Also this year, the Retail Symposium welcomed its first international speaker, Gill Stark, representing Regent's University located in London, England. 

During the event, 12 students received scholarships from H-E-B at the 2017 Retail Symposium. The scholarship amounts totaled $15,000. 

In addition, student Kara Lamb received a United Supermarkets Graduate Fellowship. The amount of the award is $5,000 per year for up to five years as long as she remains in good academic standing beginning in Fall 2017.
