Jennifer Calvi Price finds fulfillment in educating clients about financial success

Jennifer Calvi Price received her Bachelor of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning in 2007 and her Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning in 2008. Price went on to become a Certified Financial Planner™ in 2010, and today, is a Private Wealth Manager for Creative Planning, Inc.

Majoring in financial planning was not Price's original plan when she started college. She entered as an elementary education major, but after discovering she was not passionate about the route, she took a trip to the Texas Tech Career Center.

“I took the Strong Inventory with one of the career counselors,” Price said. “When ‘financial analyst' was in my top five strengths, the counselor pointed me to the Personal Financial Planning program. She recommended taking the non-major class as a starting point.”

From there, Price was hooked. For her, it was the perfect blend of digestible math, opportunities to be an extrovert, and the ability to continue to be involved in the education of others.

Since her time at Texas Tech, Price has gone on to achieve many notable professional accomplishments. She has held several different positions on the Board of the DFW Financial Planning Association, won two Financial Planning Young Guns Awards (DFW and TTU), and most recently, was named to the Investment News 40 Under 40 – Recognition of Young Leaders in Finance in 2023.

Price enjoys the ways that her career allows her to help people find success in their financial journeys. She is especially appreciative of the way her education has prepared her to tackle any situation a client may present her.

“I think the degrees I received gave me a strong foundational knowledge for the questions I answer on a daily basis, as well as the information I have to communicate every day,” Price said.

As for the future, Price hopes to continue to best meet the needs of her clients. She is also excited to continue to volunteer through programs such the FInancial Planning Association and Junior Achievement to promote financial literacy throughout the community. On a personal note, Price is looking forward to building her family with her husband, James, and her son, Max.

“Protecting and ensuring that I have a healthy work-life balance is essential to our success as a family and myself as a professional.”
