A big West Texas welcome from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Texas Tech University!! Our students and faculty are of the highest caliber, and it shows in our professional accomplishments.
We believe our undergraduate program is unique. Most Industrial Engineering B.S. programs in the country can boast of strong analytical programs in the application areas of manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain management, our program integrates decision support systems and skills (presentation, teaming, business/economic skills) gained through course projects, senior project, and our optional entrepreneurship certificate. Our students learn to recognize and understand problems, develop solutions, present to a client/customer, and then implement solution(s) using a suitable decision support system. This combination of skills is in great demand by companies in many industries around the world.
Our M.S. programs are also in great demand, with students from all over the world pursing degrees that cover operations research, manufacturing systems, logistics, ergonomics, and engineering management. Our Ph.D. program has grown steadily over the years, corresponding to robust growth in research. The Department enjoys strong reputations in applied optimization, engineering management, supply chain and logistics, transportation, biofuels, and ergonomics/human factors. Our Systems and Engineering Management programs offer a Masters’ and a unique Ph.D. by distance.
