Texas Tech University faculty members awarded Fellowship in Oman

Dr. Marc Lochbaum and Dr. Youngdeok Kim from the Department of Kinesiology and Sports Management were awarded a 2017 SQCC Research Fellowship from the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center in Washington, D.C. The research fellowship program aims to promote and cultivate scholarly research crossing multiple academic disciplines in Oman. Lochbaum and Kim were awarded $47,391 for their project titled, “Physical Activity Patterns and Related Health Outcomes of Omani Elementary Children in the Context of Attending School.”

The SQCC Research Fellowship is a one year research fellowship in Oman granted to researchers from U.S. universities through a competitive grants process. Qualifications for the award include national competitiveness of the department and expertise of the faculty principal investigators.
