For more than six decades [1892-1954] this immigrant station processed hundreds of
thousands of people into the United States. Travel back to the early 1900's and experience
what it was like to come to America as an immigrant. *Note: 5th Grade Only.
The diverse geography found in Texas affected the settlement and development of indigenous
cultures. This program focuses on four tribes, their economies, traditions, and influence
on modern Texas.
Mapping the Cultures of the World- Asia:
These programs highlight a specific country within the continent of Asia. By using
our 10'x12' floor map, artifacts, stories, and engaging cultural activities students
are immersed in Asian culture. Choose from the featured country list below and then
indicate your choice on the registration form.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS: THESE PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED IN MORNING AND AFTERNOON SESSIONS ON
A SPECIFIC DAY AT THE ICC. THIS ALLOWS US TO SERVE A LARGER NUMBER OF STUDENTS. RESERVATIONS
ARE MADE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE.
Join the nation on November 11 in honoring all veterans of the U.S.A who have bravely
defended our country and all of the freedoms we enjoy.
December 5th and 6th:
In collaboration with TTU's German Language Department, K-12 GEO presents a German
style Christmas festival. Students will enjoy a puppet show, German artifacts, and
traditional holiday crafts.
December 12th and 13th:

Christmas is a tradition practiced in a variety of ways around the world. Join us
as we journey to Russia, Germany, Norway, Brazil, and France and celebrate this worldwide
