Mapping the Cultures of the World- Latin America:
These programs highlight a specific country in Latin America. By using our 10'x12'
floor map, artifacts, stories, and engaging cultural activities students are immersed
in Latin American culture. Choose from the featured country list below and then indicate
your choice on the registration form.
For more than six decades [1892-1954] this immigrant station processed hundreds of
thousands of people into the United States. Travel back to the early 1900's and experience
what it was like to come to America as an immigrant.
The diverse geography found in Texas affected the settlement and development of indigenous
cultures. This program focuses on four tribes, their economies, traditions, and influence
on modern Texas. *Note: 7th Grade Only
Mapping the Cultures of the World-Europe:
These programs highlight a specific country within the continent of Europe. By using
our 10'x12' floor map, artifacts, stories, and engaging cultural activities students
are immersed in European culture. Choose from the featured country list below and
then indicate your choice on the registration form.
This program is designed as an introduction to a unit or region of the world. It will
cover the basics of geography and how it affects the way people live in the region.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS: THESE PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED IN MORNING AND AFTERNOON SESSIONS ON
A SPECIFIC DAY AT THE ICC. THIS ALLOWS US TO SERVE A LARGER NUMBER OF STUDENTS. RESERVATIONS
ARE MADE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE.

♦Dia de los Muertos:
This holiday is rooted in ancient Aztec rituals mixed with colonial beliefs and culture
creating a rich tradition found primarily in Mexico. Students will explore the history,
traditions and current celebrations of this unique day.
