Important Information
- Only On-Campus Departments and Registered Student Organization Events will be listed on the Family Weekend calendar.
- Groups must contact event locations directly to secure your space. We encourage you to reserve your location before you submit this form.
- Family Weekend is NOT an "event" departments "attend" like a resource fair. This is an opportunity to advertise an event for your department or organization. Your event should be planned and paid for by your department/organization.
- Please note: University Policies & Procedures as they relate to Grounds Use, Risk Management, and Environmental Health & Safety (Food Permits) must be followed and events that violate these policies will be removed from the Family Weekend calendar.
Goals of Family Weekend
Family Weekend events allow students and their family members to reconnect and explore Texas Tech together. Programming is designed to help students and their families make memories by offering fun, engaging activities that allow them to make personal connections with staff, faculty, and other students and families.
Family Weekend events support student success through family engagement and involvement.
All Family Weekend Events Must:
- Provide a place for families to meet other families and build a sense of community.
- Offer a variety of programs that meet the varied interests/needs of the student body.
- Introduce families to the services and opportunities available to their students at the University.
- Engage students and families in the spirit and involvement that is Texas Tech University.
Please note that inclusion on this calendar does not constitute an endorsement from Texas Tech University as an official university-sponsored event.

- Event location - must ensure all University Policies & Procedures are being followed
Important Dates
Important dates to keep in mind are:
- March: event submission form opens
- May 17, 2024: Priority event submission deadline (for inclusion during Red Raider Orientation presentations)
- September 1, 2024: Final event submission deadline (for inclusion on printed calendar)
- September 27 - 28, 2024: Family Weekend dates
- September 28, 2024: Family Weekend football game vs. Cincinnati
