Updating Your Catalog Copy: Program-Specific Information

Academic programs should provide, in their specific catalog copy sections, information about their Communication Literacy plans.

It is recommended that this information include the following TWO pieces of information, both of which can be taken directly from any program's submitted plan:

1. Narrative description of the Communication Literacy Plan (this will help inform students about the purpose behind your plan).
2. Courses in your Communication Literacy Plan.

Academic programs should update course descriptions for those courses included in their CL plans. It is recommended that all programs add this sentence to any course in a CL plan: "This course partially fulfills the Communication Literacy requirement in the ______________ major."

Academic programs should update course descriptions for all existing WRITING INTENSIVE courses. Any reference to the course fulfilling a portion of the program's Writing Intensive requirement should be removed.
