Rebecca Gilman's plays include Luna Gale, Spinning Into Butter, Boy Gets Girl, The Crowd You're In With, Dollhouse, Twilight Bowl, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Blue Surge, Soups, Stews, and Casseroles: 1976, and The Glory of Living. Her plays have been produced by the Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Royal Court Theatre, Lincoln Center Theatre, Public Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, New York Theatre Workshop, Hampstead Theatre, and Manhattan Class Company. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, The Roger L. Stevens Award from the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays, The Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright, The George Devine Award, and The American Theatre Critics Association's ATCA/Steinberg New Play Award. She was named a finalist for the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for her play, The Glory of Living. In 2016 she was inducted into the Alabama Writer's Hall of Fame. Ms. Gilman is an Artistic Associate at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and a member of the Council of the Dramatists Guild of America.
