Jurisdiction and Authority of the Texas Tech Police Department

Texas Tech police officers have full law enforcement powers as defined in the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, § 2.12, and the Texas Education Code. The primary jurisdiction of the Department is defined as all property owned, leased, rented or otherwise under the control of the Board of Regents of the Texas Tech University System. The Texas Tech Police Department by policy patrols the main campuses of Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.
